Tenzin and Tashi were wonderful guides and even better hosts. My every need was attended to. They took my particular research itinerary as a personal mission, thinking of additions and making connections so that I could have as productive a trip as possible. I was humbled that they would be so generous, even drawing from their personal connections to introduce me to people, be it in Thimphu or in the countryside so we could have spectacular food on the long drives to site visits. Tenzin’s particular attention to detail, and his ability to fill out the flexible itinerary were well matched with Tashi’s patience.
They were accommodating beyond any reasonable expectation, even helping me with not only Dzongkha but also my Tibetan, so that I could practice my language skills while on the trip. They were both very knowledgeable guides, about everything from local histories, to environmental details, and between themselves enjoyed swapping stories of Buddhist myths and local legends. They were attentive and I was repeatedly surprised when they brought a plan or subject days after I casually mentioned it, having figured out all the details.
From the first email, Bhutan Lhayul tours was very responsive and I felt personally attended to when crafting an itinerary. Jigme was very helpful in coordinating the trip, and sent me even extra materials pertaining to my interest, and it was lovely to meet him in person in Bhutan. I would highly recommend Bhutan Lhayul and my guides Tenzin and Tashi, and in fact I already have to my family for their planned trip!

I spent one week in Bhutan. And that was definitely the sort of trip of a lifetime, a deep meaningful journey.
Thanks to Jigme & Lhayul Tour, I got to experience the Heart of Bhutan, through an introduction to its astounding culture and its absolutely amazing trekking routes along the Himalayas.
I am a woman, I was on my own, and never felt unsecured. Instead, I felt lucky and even spoiled with “my Bhutanese family” during the trekking part of the journey and my days around Paro and Thimphu.

I have just returned from a most amazing solo travel adventure in Bhutan.  A country largely untouched and little influence from the western world, a country full of culture, history and nature/clean air. How amazing is that flight into Paro!

My visit was for a 10 day/9 night package, including 3 star accommodation (clean and comfortable at every location), all meals (never went hungry), entrance fees (as required) and all led by my wonderful guide (Tenzin) who was quickly attune with my interests and my driver (Tashi) who is certainly skilled at handling all of those hair-pin corners.

I was more than happy to have the sustainable tourism royalty of USD$65 as part of the daily minimum fee as it goes towards free education, free healthcare, poverty alleviation, along with the building of infrastructure to assist the population of this small Kingdom. What a great initiative.   I certainly recommend Bhutan Lhayul Tours and Travels  to anyone who wishes to explore and fall in love with this beautiful country where the policy is  ‘High Value, Low Impact’ tourism.  I truly hope I am able to visit more of Bhutan in the future.

Kadrinchhey la (thank you) to all at Bhutan Lhayul Tours and Travels.

All my life I wanted to see and visit the Himalayas.  With time, due to family concerns,  I was able to visit this majestical part of the world.

Originally I was going to visit through China and Tibet. My friend said you can see the Himalayas from Bhutan. She suggested I email Karma at Lhayal Tours.

I connected to Karma about traveling, as my wife had recently passed, and I truly needed somewhere to go. Karma literally guided me through my pain of loss. She explained and reminded me of the impermanence of everything. I was so appreciative of her concern as I was not accustomed to such care in the west.

Well, to make a long story short, I signed up for a guided tour with an emphasis on visiting monasteries. When I arrived I was met by a most enthusiastic Tenzin and our driver-Tashi. Later these two would become my closest dearest friends and confidants. Helping me up trails to majestic monasteries perched amongst the clouds.

I stayed in different stars hotels and each was profoundly loving and caring. I especially loved the Wangchuck Hotel in Phojika. I remember most lovingly my joy of sitting around the pot belly stove with the staff sipping chai.

Mostly, I was entranced with the underlying peace and tranquility and sense of pure and full contentment during my entire stay. Tears well up as I write this in memory of this incredible Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon.

Since my return to Hawaii the contentment and peace is still with me.  I know now the difference between Heaven and Earth.

Dear Fellow Traveler,

We have have had the opportunity to travel since the 1960’s through out the world. Being interested in world history, we have been on all seven continents and always try to experience the local culture as well as get to know the people. We have experienced North America as well as Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Africa, Asia, the mid East, South America, Mexico, Antarctica and always try local customs. For example, we have camped in the Sahara, trekked to Mt. Everest, did a dig in Israel, climbed the pyramids, summited Kilimanjaro, hiked the Inca trail, camped with the Masai people, have seen the reindeer people in Mongolia, swam with the sharks in Bora Bora to name a few.

In all our travels, our favorite is Bhutan, for its natural beauty and wonderful people. Our experience with Bhutan Lhayul Tours and Travel was outstanding. Their attention to detail, and knowledge of how to enhance your travel experience is second to none!

We highly recommend Jigme and his travel team professionals to give every traveler to Bhutan the gift of being their favored guest! For the experience of a life time, you must see Bhutan.

Best regards, Nancy &  Loren Wondrasch

On behalf of my very talented yoga teacher and dear travelling companion Yogeswari, and myself, we would like to thank you all at Lhayul Tours and Travels so much for all you have done both this time and on the previous occasion when we visited Bhutan for the first time.

We were a mixed group of 12 people ( worldwide) making a travelling Yoga Retreat from Paro to Bumthang and back.

Thanks to Mrs Tshering we experienced fantastic highlights throughout our 14 day tour. All requests or even what was only a suggestion and seemed totally impossible, were of course immediately made possible by Mrs Tshering.

The saying ” your wish is my command ” comes to mind, and it was exactly like that. Nothing was ever too much trouble or out of the question! We shall always greatly appreciate all that was done for us both before and behind the scenes. Certainly not an easy task with 12 people, a mixed bunch that didn’t even know each other!

The helpfulness and friendliness of the Bhutan people in general is also something very impressive and added to a simply wonderful, magical 2 weeks once more with Lhayul Tours in Bhutan May 2014. Thank you everyone!

I have recommenmded Bhutan to all my friends and this trip is only one of many I hope to make in the future. Last time I bough some Bhutanese textiles and gave away as gifts.
