The Kingdom of Bhutan is a small country with a population of about 700,000 sandwiched between China to the north and India to the south. I come from Haa, a small town in western Bhutan. This page provides some information about me.

My hobby is photography and this goes hand in hand with travelling, which I love to do. In fact my sister and myself took the photographs for the introductary video on how ICT can transform Bhutanese society. The project was implemented by National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT, India), an Indian Consultant for the Chiphen Rigpel Project in Bhutan.

Below is the link to the introductary videos. The photographs were taken using the Canon 50d SLR with a 18 to 200 mm lens. Oh... and my son is the actor in the Time Value video :)

I started my careers in January 2001 with the Royal Civil Service and have worked for over 10 years before resigning in March 2011 to work at Druk Holding and Investments.

Having worked in the Ministry of Education, Royal Audit Authority, National Environment Commission, Paro District Administration, I have expertise in the field of civil engineering, enviornmental engineering and technical auditing. I have during the tenure carried out engineering design works, environmental impact assessments, project management and executed construction works.

I started my elementary schooling at Lungenzampa School in Bhutan. From there I went on to study grade 3 to 5 at North Point in Darjelling. With problem in Darjeeling in 1987, my parents took me out of North Point to study at the American Embassy School in Kathmandu where I completed grade 6 and 7. I finished my remaining schooling at Woodstock School in Mussoorie, India.

After being selected for the Government of India Scholarship in 1995, I undertook my Bacelors in Technology (Civil Engineering) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. In 2008, I undertook my Masters in Environmental Engineering at the Unviersity of Melbourne under the Asian Development Bank Scholarship. I was recognized as the best ADB scholar for the year 2008 & 2009 :)
